KAGISO SECONDARY SCHOOL LAUNCH
18.02.2024

Our inaugural activation event was an enthralling experience with the ambitious young students of Kagiso Secondary School. During this gathering, our team member Asiphile fervently introduced our initiative, "Dear Future Me," providing a comprehensive overview of our mission, goals, and the program's inherent benefits. The girls eagerly immersed themselves in a condensed version of our 'book club' session, delving into module one, which showcased Michelle Obama's insightful work, "The Light We Carry." Engaged in dynamic discussions, they explored core themes such as Community, The Power of Small, and Change. The girls were notably captivated, inspired by the global presence of our group, with some expressing their desire to "travel to France" after hearing our member Maïwen's accent. The session concluded with the girls eagerly inquiring about DFM's return, a testament to their engagement and affection for the program.

As we strive to bolster our presence, we've noted a surge in interest from both university and high school students. In these formative stages of our program, we are carefully navigating the most effective and respectful approach to cater to the unique needs of both cohorts. While our module topics primarily focus on career development and are designed for a more mature audience, we understand the significance of igniting motivation and dialogue during the formative years of these girls' adolescence. Therefore, we also place value on establishing connections with high schools and younger demographics, nurturing motivation, and initiating their sisterhood with DFM.
