Mission
Amidst South Africa's persistent gender disparities, 'Dear Future Me' seeks to empower young women by addressing inherent barriers in education and career development. Through our work, we endeavour to establish a supportive community, offer educational resources extending beyond the confines of traditional classrooms, and provide mentorship. We strive to ignite the drive within these young women to seize control of their journeys, unlock their full potential, and propel themselves toward successful careers.
DFM is firmly committed to inclusivity. Despite our use of terms such as "female(s), wome(a)n, and/or girl(s)," our work prioritizes all women and gender-diverse individuals confronting analogous barriers and limitations. DFM champions an environment that advocates for recognition and unwavering support for the distinctive challenges encountered by all, irrespective of gender identity.

Through our platform, we cultivate a supportive community, provide enriching educational resources, and offer mentorship opportunities. 'Dear Future Me' is dedicated to breaking barriers and fostering greater autonomy among young women, empowering them to confidently embark on fruitful careers. Additionally, we actively engage in broader conversations, seeking to challenge existing dynamics that perpetuate these barriers.
Our vision, reminiscent of the beginning of a letter, encourages users to carve out distinctive paths, reflecting our commitment to a world where fulfillment, personal growth, and limitless dreams are achievable for everyone, irrespective of gender identity.

The deliberate use of "Dear" in our initiative mirrors the commencement of a letter, symbolizing the empowerment for users to write their unique pathways and career journeys through our platform. Simultaneously, the term "me" resonates universally, offering a relatable expression for female identifying individuals, without imposing gender labels or pronouns. Ultimately, our name embodies the implicit notion of boundless dreams, the desire for growth, the pursuit of personal fulfillment, and the acknowledgment of the sacrifices and devotion required.
